Hello! My name is Jamie Kulig. I am a graphic designer, a Cancer, someone in love with the color pink (obviously, if you’re reading this on my site) and someone who needs to continually learn new things. Whether in design or life, I love to explore and discover new things. And if they should happen to present a challenge, all the better! There’s nothing I like better than conquering something nearly impossible.
I discovered graphic design in college and have been hooked ever since. My favorite classes – by far – were typography, publication and presentation (yes, I do actually like to put together portfolios and presentations). I have a love for created printed pieces that are meant to be handled and experienced. But I also enjoy the interactivity that comes with creating Web sites and virtual environments. Honestly, there isn’t a design project that I can think of that I don’t have a curiosity or interest in. And after having worked in design and Web development for over ten years, I realize there’s nothing else I’d rather be doing.
I adore working with color, type, photos and layouts. I am one of those people who has a font wish list and a secret store of color palettes. Sometimes I can’t get enough in my professional/freelance career, so I’m always working on some kind of graphic project (you can see a few of them on My Make & Do page). Needless to say that I’m quite addicted to computers and technology (you should see the craziness of my secondary computer/multimedia station).
I am currently based in Northeastern Ohio, although I was born in Minnesota. I have spent the bulk of my life (so far) in Ohio. During high school, I lived in Virginia, which was beautiful (and the winters weren’t as crazy as Ohio’s). Even though I was there for only a brief time, I do miss it!
I am also very crafty. I love to crochet, sew, quilt and cook. I am just getting into scrapbooking, which is an overwhelming (yet exciting!) new realm. Finding new crafts and exploring them is one of my favorite things to do!
When I’m not working on the computer or on a craft, you can find me shopping (a favorite), taking photos, watching movies or playing Wii (Donkey Kong, please! Linear games are the best. Or maybe I’m just a child of the ’80s.) I also love to travel and my favorite city in the world is Rome. I’ve been lucky enough to visit twice.

Passion. I live my life based on one simple premise: do what you love, love what you do. I love designing things. I love color and type. I love crafts and learning new things. I love photography and music. I love technology, video editing and multimedia. My only problem seems to be finding the time for all of them.
Expression. There is nothing more satisfying than creating a piece that not only achieves all of its initial goals, but expresses something words just can’t. And when it evokes an emotion or reaction from someone, then I know I’ve done something truly special.
Beauty. I love high-end, meticulously designed products. I love to do whatever I can to make things beautiful. There is so much beauty to be discovered all around us and I believe that with each and every thing we do, we are one step closer to discovering something unforgettable.
